Congratulations to former University of Idaho Vandal and Green Bay Packer football great Jerry Kramer for his selection for the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2018. Kramer is the first Vandal to earn the highest individual honor in the NFL.
During his career at Idaho Kramer wore number 57 as a freshman, number 74 as a sophomore but would wear number 64 during his junior and senior years and throughout the remainder of his pro career. His number 64 jersey was retired in his honor by the University of Idaho in 1963. In his career as a Vandal, Kramer was selected as an All-American, and played in both the East-West Shrine and College All-Star games. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1958 and would play there for 11 seasons. He was named to the NFL’s 1960′s All Decade Team, the NFL 50th Anniversary Team,elected to the Green Bay Packer’s Hall of Fame in 1975, and is a charter member of the Vandal Athletics Hall of Fame.
